Date and data check

Time usedEach daily Moon sign and illumination value is calculated at 12:00 UTC.

Place usedThe position is geocentric, meaning it is calculated from Earth. No location is required.

When it updatesThe month is recalculated when you open it. An exact phase or sign change may fall on a nearby local date.

What to enter

Required: Choose a month or select a calendar date.

Optional: Location is not required because this page uses geocentric Moon data calculated from Earth.

Example input — not your result: Example: August 2026 · open August 12.

What you get

Browse Moon phases, Moon signs, illumination, and lunar milestones by date. The result includes monthly calendar, phase details, date selection.

How it is calculated

Calculates the geocentric Moon sign and illumination at noon UTC for each date. Exact quarter-phase milestones use their calculated astronomical moments.

Data time: Every calendar cell names its UTC date. Daily Moon values are calculated at noon UTC; exact phase milestones use their astronomical event time.

Result limits

This shows shared sky or traditional timing context. It is not a personal prediction unless a tool explicitly compares the sky with a birth chart.

Missing result

The calendar normally contains one Moon value for every date. If a requested date is outside the month, the page explains this and selects a valid date.

How to fix an error: Use a real month in YYYY-MM format and choose a date inside that month. The page will explain when it has returned to a valid date.

Next step and saving

Do next: Choose one upcoming lunar date and add a small observation or planning note.

This page can be printed, but it does not create a new saved reading unless it displays a generated result.

HELP

How to read the Moon calendar

The calendar combines calculated lunar data with optional reflective planning prompts.

What is the Moon sign?

It is the 30-degree zodiac section occupied by the Moon at noon UTC. The Moon usually enters a new sign every two to three days.

Technical note

The calculation uses geocentric ecliptic longitude: the Moon's zodiac position measured from Earth.

What does illumination mean?

It is the percentage of the Moon's visible disk lit by the Sun. It describes appearance, while the phase describes position in the lunar cycle.

Does a phase make a day good or bad?

No. The planning prompts offer a rhythm for reflection; they do not predict whether an event will succeed or fail.
